THIS WEEK AT A GLANCE
- The northbound S.R. 9/I-95 Express Lanes, at SW 10th Street to the Palmetto Park Road exit, will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Monday, July 20 through Thursday, July 23, for geotechnical boring operations. Motorists traveling within the northbound S.R. 9/I-95 Managed Lanes will exit at SW 10th Street onto the General-Purpose Lanes. The next available entrance will be between S.R. 810/Hillsboro Boulevard and Palmetto Park Road.
- Eastbound SW 10th Street from S.R. 845/Powerline Road to SW 30th Avenue will have one lane with a turning lane closed to traffic nightly as needed, from 8:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Monday, July 20, and Tuesday, July 21, for geotechnical boring operations.
- Westbound SW 10th Street from SW 30th Avenue to S.R.845/Powerline Road will have up to two lanes closed to traffic nightly as needed, from 8:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, and Thursday, July 23, for geotechnical boring operations.
- Southbound SW 12th Avenue under the SW 10th Street Bridge will have one lane closed to traffic nightly as needed, from 8:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Monday, July 27, to Thursday, July 30, for geotechnical operations. Flagging operations will be performed to assist motorists.
PLAN AHEAD
The NW/NE 48th Street Bridge over State Road (S.R.) 9/I-95 will close in both directions for full reconstruction beginning at 9 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2, and will remain closed through Summer 2027 as part of the Early Construction Works phase of the SW 10th Street Connector Project.
To help ensure the safety of motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists, signed detour routes will be in place throughout the duration of the closure.
- Regional traffic will be directed to the primary state roadway network, including SW 10th Street, S.R. 845/Powerline Road, S.R. 811/Dixie Highway, and S.R. 834/Sample Road.
- Local traffic will be directed to alternate north-south routes, including Military Trail and NE 3rd Avenue/FAU Research Park Boulevard.
Advance warning signs and detour signage will be installed throughout the construction limits to help guide travelers safely through the area. Access to homes, businesses, schools, and emergency services will be maintained at all times during construction.

S.R. 9/I-95 TRAFFIC IMPACTS
Southbound S.R. 9/I-95 Advanced Full Closure Notice: Southbound S.R. 9/I-95 between just south of SW 10th Street and S.R. 834/Sample Road will be closed to traffic from 11 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2, to perform traffic shift operations. During this operation, southbound traffic will be shifted to the outside lanes to establish a work zone for the upcoming demolition of the NW/NE 48th Street bridge over S.R. 9/I-95. One lane will begin to close at 9 p.m., two lanes at 9:30 p.m., three lanes at 10:30 p.m., and all lanes will be closed by 11 p.m., reopening by 5:30 a.m. Tuesday night, Aug. 4, will be used as a contingency night if needed.
Detour: Southbound motorists will be detoured via the SW 10th Street exit ramp, southbound Military Trail, and eastbound S.R. 834/Sample Road to re-enter southbound S.R. 9/I-95. The S.R. 9/I-95 Express Lanes between S.R. 810/Hillsboro Boulevard and S.R. 814/Atlantic Boulevard will also be closed. Motorists may re-enter the Express Lanes by the S.R. 814/Atlantic Boulevard ingress.
In association with this full closure, the following entrance ramps to southbound S.R. 9/I-95 will also be closed:
- Southbound S.R. 9/I-95 entrance ramp from eastbound and westbound S.R. 810/Hillsboro Boulevard.
- Southbound S.R. 9/I-95 entrance ramp from eastbound and westbound SW 10th Street.
- Motorists seeking to access southbound S.R.9/I-95 from these locations will be detoured via southbound S.R. 811/N. Dixie Highway and westbound S.R. 834/Sample Road.
To help ensure the safety of the traveling public, Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) officers will be on site, and posted detour signage will be in place to guide motorists safely through the designated detour routes.

- Motorists seeking to access northbound S.R. 9/I-95 from these locations will be detoured via northbound Military Trail and westbound SW 10th Street.
