Pile driving operations began on Sept. 24 with the installation of 2 out of 10 piles on the west side of S.R. 9/I-95 installed.

Following completion of work on the west side, pile driving will continue within the S.R. 9/I-95 median and on the east side. A total of 38 piles are anticipated to be installed through early 2027.

Pile driving activities are permitted Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. and as needed on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

  • Nearby residents and businesses may notice intermittent construction-related noise and vibration while pile driving activities are underway.

  • Construction equipment may include pile-driving equipment, cranes, generators, and other supporting machinery.

  • No additional roadway closures are currently anticipated specifically for pile driving operations.

  • Pile driving is currently anticipated to occur during daytime work hours. Should nighttime pile driving become necessary, advance notification will be provided to the community.

  • Demolition activities will continue on the easternmost bridge span, including removal of the two remaining bridge beams.
  • Temporary traffic control devices and lane closures will remain in place along S.R. 9/I-95 as needed to safely accommodate construction activities while maintaining traffic flow.
